Mother's Day

What a great Mother's Day weekend we had.  Russell, Cassie, Wyatt and Warren came home Thursday afternoon.  We got to see quite a bit of them. As with most families when they live away, they try very hard to divide their time between grandparents and try to see as much of both families as they can.  I usually have a big family gathering, when possible, to allow great grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins to spend time with them.
Richard, DeNae and their children came here Saturday evening so we had the whole clan together Sunday.  It was a perfect day. It rained in the morning while we were all in church but cleared off in the afternoon to allow outside activities. Beautiful day.

Here Macey and Wyatt are running across the yard. Don't know why, that's just what they do.
Papaw with the two youngest, Wyatt and Warren
Logan getting a little practice being a big brother.
Macey honing her nurturing instincts. Just a few weeks and she'll have one of these to care for all the time.
Logan was in a baseball tournament Saturday and Sunday, so wrong to do that on Mother's day. This is Cassie and Warren taking in a game. Warren's first baseball game.
Cassie and Wyatt taking it all in.
Blake and Wyatt helping Papaw feed the "reindeer" as Blake says.
Playing in the deer food.
The big boys and little ones went fishing in the afternoon. Nothing more exciting to a child than catching a few perch.
Russell giving the boys a demonstration.
Wyatt doesn't quite have the hang of it, but he tries.
Madi seemed to catch on and caught a few fish.

Somehow I failed to get a photo of Caitin on Mother's day, don't know where she was hiding, so I'm including some pics from Macey's birthday party held at putt and jump.

This is psychedelic Caitin in the miniature golf room.
Madi, Macey and Caitin. That might be DeNae in the background riding the wave.
Madi, Caitin and Macey, three precious little girls
who are now outnumbered by the boys in our family.
The moms relaxing after lunch.
I am so blessed to have these four great women in my life. God has been good to the Kirkpatrick family. I'm one proud mother and mamaw.

  2. For some reason, I can't leave a comment on your blog anymore. It asks me to pick a profile? Finally worked when I picked "anonymous" as my profile?

  3. We enjoyed our time there and enjoyed you watching the boys for us some. I am glad you took pictures that weekend. My camera was acting up and I hardly got any. I will have to get some of those from you.

  4. Nice photos. The song has got to go. TWANGY!
The kids are growing up so fast - glad you have a little freshie and one coming soon. Kirkpatrick grandbabies sure are cute. And I'm with you - they should cancel everything sporty on Mother's Day so everyone can sit around and tell their moms how great they are. By the way, I think you're great, Mom! :)
