After leaving Louisville we headed toward Cleveland, we felt like we were in the Wizard of Oz, corn husks, leaves, small limbs off trees, and dust flying past our big old windshield. Surprising to us but the motorhome did not rock and roll as bad as we anticipated, probably because we were pretty much traveling with the wind rather than against it. Gary called ahead to the KOA near Cleveland and they were without power and had at least one tree down and the campground had a lot of trees so we decided it would not be wise to stay the night there so we found a rest stop and spent the night along with all the big trucks. It was actually pretty neat, we turned on our generator so we had power, heated us some left over spaghetti and watched TV off our satellite dish. We couldn't open our slides so we didn't have access to clean clothes besides I wasn't removing anything just in case the wind blew us away. I called two of my sweet daughter-in-laws to tell them where we were in case we did get blown away and someone had to come identify our remains. Fortunately DeNae has easy access to our dental records, which she so kindly reminded me of.
When we got up the next morning it was a pretty day. We made our way on to Niagara Falls, NY. Hurricane 2 arrived that day, Pam and Beverly. We've had a great time here at the falls. Wednesday we all took a bus tour covering most of the important sites. It was 11 hours long. We saw the American Falls in the morning and the Horseshoe Falls from the Canadian side in the afternoon. It was a beautiful day. And we were exhausted at the end of it.
Thursday the guys played golf, a man can stand only so much estrogen at a time. We girls went to a little town about 10 miles away called Lewiston and shopped a bit. We came home and had dinner again outside. It has been so much fun having Pam and Beverly here but right now they are getting their stuff together cause we have to take them to the airport. It'll be quite around here but I guess we'll adjust once again to empty nest.

I never thought I would see Rick in something that would look like he was wearing a dress - Gary, maybe, but not Rick :0)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys are having a great time. Can I hide out in your luggage compartment next time? do you need a maid? no wait, I even hate cleaning my own house.
