We went to Grace Baptist Church this morning. It is a BBFI church. They were just finishing their missions conference so we heard the Pastor during Sunday School and a missionary for church. We enjoyed the service. For lunch we went to UNO Pizza, there used to be one in Tulsa but they closed. I didn't go there very often but loved their spinoccolli pizza. I told Rick some time ago that if we find one on our trip I wanted to go there, well, they put me off for a whole week but we got to go there for lunch today. When we first walked in the door I ask if they still served spinoccolli and they did, otherwise we probably would have chosen the steak house across the street. I actually wanted to buy a couple extra pizzas and freeze them. I have a good friend who shares my passion for spinoccolli but I decided they'd probably just get soggy, so Pam, I'm sorry.
This afternoon Rick and I revisited the Portland Head Light. On the grounds of this lighthouse is an old fort and a place that is hidden by a hill, overlooking the ocean, where they had placed huge guns and artillery to protect the coast in world war II. The area is not intact but there are trails that you can walk around the remains and a trail along the top of a ridge overlooking the ocean. We took quite a while this afternoon just enjoying that area. It was a nice restful day for us. Tomorrow morning we pull up stakes again and head to Connecticut for one night then to Jersey City, NJ for a week. From there we'll tour New York City. I can hear the Empire State Building calling my name. NOT!!!
This is Rick and Marilyn, in case you've forgotten who we are since we've been gone so long, in front of the Portland Head Light. I really enjoyed walking around on the rocks along the shoreline. Sometimes it was even up fairly high and Rick wondered why I could do that and was scared of other things, I don't have a answer for that except that I had control over the situation.
Tomorrow we're headed to Connecticut for one night. I'll write again then if we have access to internet.
Love you all, miss you too.
