Yum, Yum!!

Yesterday was Thursday and for those of you who know me very well, you know that every other Thursday is maintenance day.  So we found a little Salon on Main street in Saco, Maine and I got a haircut, pedicure and my nails done. That was only the second time to get my nails done since leaving home and my first pedicure and hair cut.  Business was very slow in the little shop, summers are their busiest times around here for tourists, so I walked in at just the right time and was able to get all my maintenance done immediately. Rick just left me there and came back to the motorhome to do a few things and picked me up when I called  that I was beautified.  My dad jokes that he told one of his friends "when I die don't try to bury me on a Thursday cause Marilyn can't come, she has nail appointments." I love my dad and think that was funny but I'm gonna consider every day nail day cause I don't ever want to face that situation. I'm a daddy's girl.

Today was a great day, the boys went out to play, they played golf and Beverly and I stayed home.  I talked to her once on the CB radio to see if she wanted or needed to go anywhere, she didn't and neither did I. So, I listened to some good gospel music that I'd purchased at the quartet convention but had not listened to yet. It was so good for my soul, reminding me that God is in control, that He loves me and that no matter what is happening in the world He knows and cares and my faith and trust is in Him not in the market or government. I did a little cleaning, a little laundry and sat outside in my foldable rocking chair and read a book for a while soaking in some vitamin D. Then to finish off the day we all went to a nice restaurant that is a restored ship. It is called DeMillo's. We had eaten there in 2003 when we were here. That was my first time to have lobster and it was really good so I was looking forward to enjoying that again. So, I did. I'm terribly inept at the proper way of eating those things. The waiter gave me a sheet of instructions but I was still pretty pathetic. Plus, there are some gross things that come out of a whole lobster. I don't remember that stuff from my first experience but then the waiter helped me quite a bit so I think he must have maneuvered around that stuff without my noticing. Anyway, I worked my way through it. Here's a picture of the poor guy before the mangling.

Here he is broken in half and pretty much grossing me out. I made a comment to the waiter about the stuff inside him, the waiter called it "candy". Not any candy I'd want to eat.

Gary ordered shrimp cocktail and those were the biggest shrimp I'd ever seen, nearly as big as my hand.  We enjoyed our dinner, the other three enjoyed the entertainment I provided trying to eat my meal.

Tomorrow we're staying home, maybe go for a bike ride in the morning then we're gonna watch OU stomp Texas. We'll probably do that sitting outside in our lawn chairs and maybe grill a burger.

Love you all!

  1. Oh, my goodness, that lobster looks delicious! I just have one question - Are you sick? You never have to clean or do laundry! Maybe Rick isn't feeling well. Just kidding. I know you clean and do laundry. Looks like you had a great day. I'd say I'm jealous but that would be sort of like complaining and you know what pastor has to say about complaining. Ashlee, Jason, Kristen and Isaac are coming over to watch OU kick some Longhorns up and down the field and Tyler is home. Of course, Steve is at the cabin, so I'm always one person short of having the whole family in the house at one time. Oh well. Have fun tomorrow. Miss you like crazy.
