There's no place like home

It is Monday, November 17 and we are finally home. The last two weeks we didn't have access to internet, or I should say we didn't take time to access internet. We were at Russell and Cassie's the first week and Richard and DeNae's the second. The places we stayed did not have service, we could have posted at our kids homes but were too busy with other things to get it done.

We got to be with Wyatt for his second birthday. We had a good time visiting with them for a week. Got to hear Russell preach on Sunday night. He gets to preach most Sunday evening services now. He makes us proud. Cassie is doing well, as you know they are expecting another baby in April so she has been pretty sick but is getting beyond that now. And Wyatt is the cutest little boy and full of spunk and personality. We arrived in Sulphur Springs, Tx on Sunday afternoon the second of Nov. and left there Monday the 10th.

Here Wyatt is trying to drive the motorhome. I placed this storage cube in the seat to try to keep him out of it, well, he just climbed on top of the cube.
Here he is sitting inside one of the cubes watching TV with Papaw.
Here Wyatt is trying to get me to do a little exercise by lifting him up in the air.

Playing on his swing set.

Ready to blow out the candle on his tractor birthday cake.

Macey and Logan helping Wyatt celebrate.
We then went to spent a week with Richard and DeNae.  They sold their house and moved into a rent house for 9 months until they can (hopefully) finally move into their dream home. That had been postponed from August 08 to August 09, to allow the owners time to build a house and not have to move more than once. The kids went from about 5000 ft home to 1600 for the next 9 months. That place is packed and the garage is piled high with what wouldn't go into the house.

We kept the kids overnight 3 nights that week, which allowed Richard and DeNae the chance to pack or put things away in the rent house, whichever was happening at the time. It has been a long time since I had to get up early and get kids off to school in the mornings.  They are really growing up. Madi's in 3rd grade, Caitin is in kindergarten and Blake is pre-school. We worked our tails off packing and moving and assembling but enjoyed the week with them.

Caitin, Madalyn and Blake looking out the door of the motorhome just before heading off to school.

Caitin striking a pose at her ice skating performance.

Madalyn deep in concentration during her performance.

My mom and dad came out to our house this evening with supper for us. You'll never guess what the main course was. Yep! you got it. FISH and hushpuppies. It was good to see them and nice to be fed. Mom brought all kinds of stuff, like she thought we hadn't eaten in the 2 months. She thought we wouldn't have anything to eat in our house, she was right, we didn't, but we had stuff from the motorhome. I think she just didn't quite get it that we'd been traveling with our own kitchen and groceries all this time. But, I am thankful she was concerned and wanted to take care of us.

Well, it's late, think I'll go try out my old bed and see if I can still sleep in it.

Anxious to see you all.

  1. That photo of the OKC grands looking out the RV door is beyond cute. It's my fave in the post. I also enjoyed seeing the girls do their skating thing. Very cool that you could see them perform. Who had more fun, Wyatt or Mamaw? GLAD YOU ARE HOME - YOU WERE AWAY TOO LONG THIS TIME.
