Movin On

We've been in a little community called Glenville, Ny near Albany for the last two nights and did not have internet service there, so I missed you guys.  While in that area we went to Albany and toured an old house that was built in 1786 and owned by the same family for all these years until the last descendent died in the 60's. Then it was turned into a museum.  We had a guided tour and heard stories of the former owners lives. It was interesting. We then drove around town for a while, had to go up into the tallest building in the city to the observation deck on the 42nd floor to look around. It was a sunny, clear day and the view was beautiful of the city and the Hudson River.  You know how well I like heights, not at all, however it wasn't the height that bothered me as much as thinking I could feel the floor vibrate and move.  Well, I tiptoed around looking like and idiot, holding on to the walls and anything else I could hang on to. Rick took some pretty pictures, I'll have to send one of them out cause I couldn't hold a camera. After that we went to a museum and to dinner.

Today we drove to our KOA in Lake Placid, NY in the Adirondack Mountains. Our drive was beautiful, the trees are beginning to change, we'll be here for a week so it should only get prettier as time goes by. Our home for the next week is nestled in among a lot of trees, which makes for interesting parking.  We've already seen a chipmunk running around gathering food for the winter and taking it down his little whole in the ground just behind our motorhome.
It was amazing how full he filled his little cheeks.

We are having a great time. Tomorrow we're sightseeing, this is where they held the winter olympics a few years ago and the teams still practice here even when there is not snow on the ground. They do something to the slopes that enables them to practice the ski jumps.

This is a view from our RV park in Glenville, NY.  It's the dock in front of the park office.

A view of the Northeast side of Albany and the Hudson River from that blasted 42nd floor observation deck.

Hope everyone at home is well and safe.

love you all!

PS. I survived.

  1. Ashlee and I laughed out loud when we read your blog. I loved hearing about your observation tower adventure. Just say no to those darn towers! The campground looks pretty. Look forward to hearing more about your trip.
